Because airsoft guns

fire 6mm BBs at varying speeds and the body's pain receptors interpret pain differently, the response will vary from person to person.

I've probably been shot hundreds of times all over my body by various airsoft weapons, from the top of my head to the tips of my arms and legs.

Depending on the distance, I can usually feel a shot from a BB travelling at 330FPS from the barrel of an airsoft gun quite acceptable.

It feels like an insect has stung you; there is almost no pain, yet you are aware of it.

On the other side, I've been hit by a 550fps BB fired from a safe distance away.

The BB shattered the skin, resulting in an open sore and a small amount of blood.
