Victorinox manufactures the Swiss Army knife, which is a multi-tool pocketknife. After World War II, American troops invented the phrase "Swiss Army knife" because they couldn't pronounce the German word "Offiziersmesser," which means "officer's knife."
Victorinox claimed to be the "Original Swiss Army Knife," while Wenger claimed to be the "Genuine Swiss Army Knife." From 1908 until Victorinox bought Wenger in 2005, the two firms divided the contract for delivering knives to the Swiss Army
